Pros

  • Comes with a wide array of programs that are hugely helpful and beneficial - indeed, for many businesses, these may be the only business programs you need.
  • Mobile options are easy to use and allow for access to your critical work files from anywhere.
  • New addition of Skype allows for mobile calling and team-based work. It also allows for the use of face-to-face digital calls or a messaging system.
  • Allows for 1 TB of storage, which is a huge amount, and more than many businesses will ever need.
  • All six programs included in the bundle are very powerful.

Cons

  • The price isn't cheap and the monthly subscription-based model ensures that you will never stop paying for Office - otherwise, you lose access to all of your files.

These days, if you use a computer, odds are good you need more than just an internet connection to be successful. Thankfully, Microsoft 365 offers a robust suite of programs that have become standard in the workplace and can allow anyone to work from anywhere.

Microsoft 365 comes with a variety of programs that are virtually business standard at this point. This includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Skype, Outlook, and OneDrive. All of these programs make working from anywhere a breeze. Best of all: If you have internet access, you have the ability to access your files from anywhere. This can be wildly important, particularly given the mobile nature of our society.

Microsoft 365 has come a long way since it was first implemented. Since all files can now be saved and accessed via the Cloud, you can literally access any of these programs from anywhere - including a mobile device. This allows you to work on your files anywhere, anytime, from any place. Furthermore, one terabyte of storage is available with a download. This is a massive number and may be more than your business will need.

Of course, this kind of capability is not cheap. The entire suite is available for $149.95 as an initial download. From there, you pay a monthly fee, and that fee will rise or fall based on how many licenses you purchase and how much data you need for your entire operation.

There are a few versions of Microsoft 365 available, and different versions come with different bells and whistles, like a free Email address. The central subscription does have a licensing management system, so you can track and add or remove licenses. For small businesses, this likely won't change too often, but it is something you should be aware of.

It is worth noting that the entire package is a good one, but each of these individual programs is exceptionally powerful, industry-standard, and seems to grow in utility by the day. Microsoft does regularly update these programs, adding new features and templates that can truly help your business. These features alone may be worth the price of the download.
